Annual festival of social science

This is an annual conference hosted by SSPARC that showcases and celebrates social science research within the University of 映客直播. Presenters come from across the university and often attend with their external collaborators. This year’s conference was held on 11 June 2015 had 30 presentations in three parallel streams running throughout the day. 

Overview

Presentations covered a range of themes including: identities, mobilities and mobilisation; eco/sustainability; mental health; age and ageing; public health discourse. In addition three special event sessions were held this year:

  • ‘Transforming sexuality and gender’ celebrated the new university-funded research cluster, with presentations from two international speakers
  • ‘Interrogating rape culture’ addressed the growing problem of rape in our society, looking at both explanations and action needed to combat this, and
  • ‘Research with people with learning disabilities’ examined the experiences of University of 映客直播 staff in this form of ‘co-research’.
