映客直播 notches double success at apprenticeship awards ceremony

University of 映客直播 candidates have won two awards at the 映客直播 & Hove Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony 2021, held on 30 June.

6 July 2021

The awards from the Sussex Council of Training Providers celebrated the achievements and success stories of apprentices across the city, as well as exceptional contributions from employers and education providers that make apprenticeships and traineeships a success.

Meghann Creffield won the award for Outstanding Contribution by an Apprentice to an Employer, after the Biomedical Science Degree Apprenticeship graduate was nominated by Royal Sussex County Hospital pathology department where she works.

Her citation said: “Meghann’s project on procalcitonin had a direct impact on the treatment of patients with COVID-19, and enabled our Biochemistry department to add procalcitonin to the test repertoire now included on the admission bloods for patients with COVID-19.

Meghann was in her final year of the Biomedical Science Degree when the COVID pandemic hit. There were lots of pressures at work and changes in shifts patterns. Meghann took this all in her stride, completing her project and her final year - all whilst raising a family.”

The university enjoyed further success when Lis Bundock won the Tutor/Trainer of the Year award, acknowledging those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to support apprentices during their apprenticeship.

, programme leader for Teacher Apprenticeship at the University of 映客直播, received more than one nomination for her award. One citation said: “Perhaps the greatest testimony towards her dedication and commitment to our success was that every apprentice teacher on our course achieved an Outstanding grading at the end of the year.

“By showing the levels of commitment and desire Lis demonstrated, it gave us all a model on which to base our fledgling careers. Her resolute reliability and genuine love for creating passionate teachers has resonated with us all in a way it is hard to put into words. We all owe her a great deal and have been given a wonderful start in our careers as a direct result of Lis.”

Teaching Apprenticeship graduate Rachel Gumbrill was also nominated in the Above And Beyond category. Her citation said: “From day one Rachel demonstrated a determination and commitment that was maintained to the highest degree throughout the entirety of the programme. Throughout the pandemic she supported her class bubble (parents and pupils) on a daily basis, and exemplified how academic study and practice-based learning can combine to offer new insights.”
